It protects the rear of your Sprinter with a handcrafted aluminum bumper that installs directly over the factory plastic rear bumper — no removal required for the Standard version. It integrates a double-step platform, built wide and solid enough to stand on comfortably while loading cargo or accessing the rear of your van from the outside. And in its Sensor Compatible version, it solves one of the most persistent frustrations in Sprinter builds: parking sensors falsely triggering from rear storage boxes, bike racks, or tire carriers.

At approximately 33 lbs, it adds meaningful protection without meaningful weight.

Real-World Observation

Customers running rear ladder/ tire carrier combinations have found an added benefit; the rear edge of the RDC bumper serves as a natural first step, making it significantly easier to reach the bottom foot peg of the ladder from the ground. Factory Step Bumper Compatibility: The RDC Rear Bumper is not compatible with the Mercedes Sprinter factory step bumper. Vehicles equipped with the factory step bumper will need the standard factory bumper reinstalled prior to fitment.
