The Rugged Sprinter Van Ladder was designed to be something you actually want on your build, not just something functional, but something finished. Laser-cut tread holes in every rung for real grip. Tube diameter sized for a comfortable hand hold, not the undersized stock you find on catalog ladders. A bottom kick-over that follows the exact curve of the Sprinter wheel well rather than fighting it. And a mounting position that isn’t fixed but rather where you want it along the pinch seam, and that’s where it goes.

It connects to your Rugged roof rack at the top via a supplied bracket, and mounts to the lower pinch seam at the bottom with the supplied bottom bracket. At approximately 15 lbs, it adds access without adding weight you’ll notice.

DESIGN DETAIL

Rungs

2 inches deep. Laser-cut tread holes throughout for grip in all conditions. Consistent rung width top to bottom. The bottom rung is slightly shorter to clear the pinch seam mount cleanly.

Tube Profile

Larger diameter tubing than most competitors. Comfortable to grip while climbing.

Wheel Well Kick-Over

The bottom of the ladder curves to follow the exact profile of the Sprinter wheel well. It’s a detail most builders skip. On this ladder, it’s standard.

Mounting Position

The ladder can be mounted anywhere along the side pinch seam. Most commonly just forward of the rear wheel well on the driver’s side. If your build calls for something different, specify at time of order.

Rack Integration

Top bracket connects directly to the Rugged roof rack. Bottom bracket mounts to the lower pinch seam. Both brackets are included. If you don’t have a Rugged rack, a special roof rail bracket is available — contact us before ordering to confirm fitment.

Construction

Aluminum throughout. TIG welded in-house by Dennis. Powder coated black to the same spec as every RDC product.

Compatibility

All Mercedes Sprinter wheelbases, 2007 to current. Specify high roof or low roof at time of order — this is the only fitment variable that affects fabrication.

The most common placement. Mounts just forward of the rear wheel well on the driver’s side. Clean, accessible, out of the way of the sliding door. Standard for single-ladder builds.

Routes the ladder behind the wheel well. Useful for builds with dual sliding doors on both sides, or for buyers who prefer a more rearward placement. The behind the wheel well ladder is also the second ladder in a mirrored duo setup.

One ladder mounts in front of the wheel well. One mounts behind it. Together, they frame the wheel well symmetrically. A visual balance that most van builds never achieve because most ladder manufacturers only offer one geometry. Order the front and behind versions together to achieve the mirrored duo look.

Rugged Roof Rack: The top bracket connects directly.

No roof rack Configuration: A special roof rail bracket is available. Contact us before ordering so we can supply the correct hardware.

Third-party roof rack: The ladder will most likely not be compatible with other manufacturers’ racks. Contact us to discuss before ordering.

Aftermarket Flares: The ladder clears most aftermarket window flares. If you’re running oversized or aggressive flares, note this at time of order — We will adjust the fabrication accordingly.
