Every Baja Designs LP9 Pro LED Light Pod comes in two lens colors and two beam patterns. That’s four combinations, five times over, and most people ordering their first set get it wrong in the same way, all clear, all spot, and a light bar that’s useless the first time the dust comes up.

So we spec the set.

Amber or clear? The honest answer is both. Baja Designs makes both, and their own position is that the best setup runs a mix. We agree and here’s why:

• Clear runs at 5000K, the color of daylight. It throws further, reads sharper on open ground, and is less tiring over a long night drive. On a graded road at speed, clear wins.
• Amber runs around 3000K. Warmer color, longer wavelength and longer wavelengths scatter less when they hit something suspended in the air. Dust. Fog. Falling snow. Clear light hits those particles and bounces straight back at you as a wall of glare. Amber cuts through it.

The trade-off is real: amber costs you about 15% of your light output. You’re paying brightness for definition; which is why we don’t sell you six of either.
