When you cut the deck plate of a roof rack to clear an AC unit, you lose usable surface area. The Skyliner recovers it.

It’s a raised aluminum platform that bridges over the top of your AC unit — bolting directly to the RDC roof rack and converting what was dead space into usable deck. Rugged enough to sit on comfortably or mount a solar panel. Engineered with enough clearance underneath that your AC unit can ventilate freely while the platform above it significantly protects the plastic housing from UV degradation, debris, and low-hanging branches.

WHAT IT DOES:

Reclaims the roof space lost when the deck plate is cut to clear the AC unit. Restores a usable, flat platform directly over the AC housing.

Wide and solid enough to sit on comfortably when you’re up on the roof. A small detail that makes roof access significantly more functional.

Flat deck surface provides a stable platform for a solar panel without occupying primary rack space.

Shields the AC plastic housing from extended UV exposure, debris impact, dry rot, and color fading — all without restricting airflow. The platform sits above the unit with deliberate clearance built in for ventilation.

The aluminum deck takes the hit from low-hanging branches and trail debris before they reach the AC unit’s plastic cover. Protection without enclosure.

Bolts directly to the Rugged roof rack. Fully removable for AC servicing or when not needed. No permanent modification required.

COMPATIBILITY

Rugged Roof Rack Required

The Skyliner mounts directly to the RDC rack structure. It cannot be mounted to a bare roof or factory roof rails as a standalone component.

Not Compatible with Competitor Roof Racks

The Skyliner is engineered specifically for RDC rack geometry and will not fit other manufacturers’ products.

Specify your AC unit at order

Provide the length of your AC unit and its height off the roof surface. Factory Sprinter units are approximately 63″. Most aftermarket units are approximately 40″. If you’re unsure, contact us before ordering.

Airflow is maintained

The Skyliner is designed with deliberate clearance so your AC unit can ventilate normally. It helps protect without restricting.

If you already have an RDC roof rack installed, the Skyliner is built in approximately one week before it ships.

Rack + Skyliner Together

When ordered alongside a Rugged roof rack, both are fabricated together. Combined lead time is approximately 6–8 weeks, the same as the rack on its own.
